Business confidence has come surging back across virtually all geographies and industries, according to the latest Business Outlook survey from KPMG International, which questioned 6,200 manufacturers and service providers from all over the world.

Czech manufacturers are marginally optimistic in their expectations for output over the next twelve months. Moreover, the new orders net balance is positive for the second consecutive outlook period.

However, business revenues are forecast to fall by October 2010, as firms engage in price discounting to protect market share. Correspondingly, the output prices and profits net balances both remain negative.

Manufacturers expect to cut jobs and capital spending over the next twelve months, in order to control costs. That said, the employment net balance is at its highest since July 2008. The input prices net balance returns to positive territory, but remains well below its long-run trend.

Capacity utilization is forecast to rise, but the ratio of inventories to output is set to fall.
