Managers perceive the need for new approaches to increase employee motivation

In the autumn of last year Everesta s.r.o. in cooperation with the Czech Management Association conducted a research study on the motivational environment of companies and organizations in the country. This study was the first step in a project to support organizations interested in increasing motivation and commitment of its employees. The study used a questionnaire completed during September and October by more than 120 organizations of all sizes from the entire country.

The "Motivational Environment Improvement Project" was prepared to provide help businesses and organizations in using their most abundant but poorly managed resource - the energy of their own employees. The results of the study carried out shows that staff motivation is sometimes overlooked or greatly inefficiently supported by standard methods using external, and particularly financial, motivators.
