DuPont as the first to support “Adopt a School” project initiated by the American Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic
"DuPont has a long history and excellent reputation in the maintenance and implementation of ethical standards. I consider this project of AmCham a great opportunity to pass our experience on the generation, which in coming years will shape the business environment in this country," says Soňa Krausová, director of DuPont Czech Republic. "We chose Elementary School Kamenice because it is coincidentally attended by three children of our employees," she adds.
The project "Adopt a School" is open to other entities as well. Elementary schools that are interested in implementing the subject of ethics can apply for the program through the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. Companies that would like to finance the implementation of the subject of ethics in selected school as a part of their CSR initiatives can apply through the American Chamber of Commerce.
“Companies can select the school they would like to support from already existing list of schools or they can propose the school that is close to their company or the school of their employees´ children”, says Weston Stacey, Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce. “Companies are later connected with the selected school. Together they agree on the range and the process of implementation of the subject of ethics into teaching”, he adds.
