In recent years there is also an increasing role of these programs to gain a competitive advantage in the battle for talent. Next to motivating conditions some benefits to family members are provided, e. g. visas or cultural integration courses, are applied to facilitate the departure of workers. On the other hand, companies are carefully watching both direct and indirect costs per employee. A still neglected area stays the care of outcoming employees after their return to home country. As it is often not sufficient, 47 percent of companies lose up to ten percent of internship subscribers within one year after the end of the stay abroad.
