MIPIM 2018, the 29th edition of the world's leading property market, was held at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes, France, in mid-March. The bpv BRAUN PARTNERS real estate team participated once again, spending four days networking, attending presentations, conferences, premium events and inspiring discussions with their clients and colleagues from the real estate industry.
MIPIM brings together the most influential players from all sectors of the real estate market each year. bpv BRAUN PARTNERS attorneys, partners Mgr. Jiří Bárta, LL.M and Mgr. Gabriela Porupková and managing associate JUDr. Miroslav Dudek, spent four busy days in the pleasant spring atmosphere of the French Riviera.
"MIPIM has traditionally been an indicator of global trends in real estate and real estate investment. The mood at MIPIM 2018 was very positive, like the previous year, and investor behavior is expected to continue along the same lines as in 2017. They want to be as active as possible, although many experts and investors we met predicted that the volume of real estate investments will actually decline slightly this year," commented Gabriela Porupková, summarizing her impressions from the event.
"The good news for our region is the confirmation that foreign investors are interested in CEE, especially the Czech Republic, which is mainly thanks to its long-term stability and returns that are more interesting than those of comparable real estate in Western Europe," adds Jiří Bárta, partner and head of the real estate department at bpv BRAUN PARTNERS. "Another interesting piece of news is that the Czech municipalities are more and more active at MIPIM. We look forward to seeing what they are planning for the next year. "
