Eversheds Sutherland now has a new partner, Mgr. Ing. Dominika Veselá, who has been working at the firm for nine years and has been leading its real estate practice since 2018. The firm's other recent promotion is of Mgr. Petra Kratochvílová to principal associate.
Dominika Veselá is an experienced lawyer who specialises in real estate law. She has many years of experience managing real estate transactions, negotiating work contracts and representing parties in lease relationships, providing advice to clients from the most powerful global companies as well as local entrepreneurs. A member of Eversheds Sutherland since 2011, she graduated from the Faculty of Law of Charles University in Prague and the Banking and Insurance Department at the Faculty of Finance and Accounting of the University of Economics in Prague.
Talking about her career as an attorney, Dominika says with only a hint of exaggeration: "I will borrow a quote from a TV series: 'I didn't become a lawyer because I like the law… It's boring.' But what is not boring is working for our clients and with our clients. At Eversheds Sutherland, we always strive to turn our clients' problems into challenges and to tackle them together successfully. But this is only possible with the support of the entire Eversheds Sutherland team – tireless experts who work with huge commitment, professionalism and mutual respect. Participating in the development of this company simply makes sense (and it's not boring)."
In her practice, Petra Kratochvílová focuses mainly on commercial law, trusts and personal data protection. She also has extensive experience representing clients in proceedings before general, insolvency and administrative courts. A graduate of the Faculty of Law of Charles University in Prague, she has been working at Eversheds Sutherland since 2016.
Petra has participated in many important cases at Eversheds Sutherland, including one of the most significant automotive transactions this year – the sale of Strojmetal, or consulting for EGAP in preparing and negotiating contractual documentation for the Covid+ rescue programme. Petra also participates in the training of in-house lawyers and leads seminars focusing on the contractual agenda.
"It is extremely important for us that our people grow together with the company, and in this case the promotions were a clear step, because they are key members of our team," said Stanislav Dvořák, the office's managing partner. "I believe that our office will continue to grow with them."
Eversheds Sutherland is a TOP 15 global law firm. It employs more than 5,000 people in 70 offices and 34 jurisdictions in Europe, the USA, Africa, Asia and the Middle East. www.eversheds-sutherland.com
