Experiences Await You in Greece: Fly from Prague to Rhodes, Corfu and Crete

3.06.2021
Company: Letiště Praha, a. s.

Experiences are the greatest gifts of all and, this summer, it is doubly true. Blue skies, beautiful beaches, boat trips to caves and good local cuisine specialities. The Greek islands have long been among the most popular destinations thousands of Czechs fly to for joy. During the coming months, they will be able to choose from several direct flights a day, for example to Rhodes, Corfu, Heraklion and, gradually, to twelve other destinations on both the mainland and other islands in Greece, where they can go and seek experiences directly and comfortably from Václav Havel Airport Prague

"We see Greece as one of the main holiday destinations, which is suitable for all age groups. Moreover, thanks to the gradual relaxation of travel rules, the demand for flights and trips to the popular Greek islands will further increase," Jaroslav Filip, Director of Prague Airport Aviation Business, said.

The popular Greek islands are the next destination which Prague Airport has included in the new ‘Experiences Await’ campaign to support flying and travelling abroad. Promotional activities related to individual destinations have been launched during May 2021 via various online and offline communication channels. Prague Airport has also prepared a special website for  travellers with current overview of available connections from Prague, including important travel information, check-in details, services and protective measures implemented both at Prague Airport and aboard aircraft, as well as interesting travel guide data.

Alongside the speed, great advantages of travelling by plane are comfort and, most importantly, safety. Passenger handling is subject to strict hygiene standards, including regularly repeated disinfection of aircraft. Airport busy areas, including passenger gates, are also disinfected and cleaned more frequently.  Protective measures implemented aboard aircraft by individual airlines may vary, however, in general, it is mandatory to keep one’s nose and mouth covered for the entire duration of the flight. All applicable information regarding in-flight rules and regulations are always published on the respective carrier’s website. Passengers should always carefully review all currently valid conditions of entry implemented in their final destination and the measures governing their return to the Czech Republic, which may often change swiftly.

A great advantage of travelling by plane when compared to the other means of transport is the efficient filtration of air directly in the aircraft cabin. The onboard HEPA filters capture almost 100% of microparticles of various types of bacteria and viruses, including Coronavirus. For example, during a two-hour flight, the air in the cabin is completely changed about forty times and, thanks to effective filters, it is also cleaned at the same time. Therefore, on compliance with all set and functional measures at airports and aboard aircraft, the risk of transmission of the disease when travelling by air is minimal, as confirmed by the data of the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Flexibility is another benefit of air travel, appreciated at these times. Carriers currently allow customers to change their flight dates. Passengers can thus easily adjust their plans for health or other reasons.
