Foxconn started electrifying its vehicle fleet and took over the first Nissan

Company: FOXCONN CZ s.r.o.

Four months ago, Foxconn announced its new collaboration with Nissan and is going to electrify its vehicle fleet. Its intention started to be realized last week, when AUTO IN Technology took over the first pair of new generation Nissan Leaf electric vehicles. These will soon be used by employees at Foxconn in Pardubice and Kutná Hora.

"This project represents just one small part of Foxconn’s global commitment towards environmental responsibility.  As a good corporate citizen, Foxconn intends to promote sustainability in our operations and in the local community. Following a full month of healthy cycling to work program, we are delighted to announce exciting news about the adoption of electrical vehicles to our car fleet. We would like to thank AUTO IN Technology for helping us achieve our goals and look forward to continuing cooperation," said Pavel Tuček, Foxconn Communications and PR Manager.

Foxconn employees can use the new cars from now on, the entire infrastructure is ready and there is a recharging station in front of each facility. The new Nissan Leaf is not an advanced car with its 100% electric drive and 0 emissions. It is equipped with a lot of other clever technologies such as automatic parking, braking, lane tracking or safe spacing. "Foxconn wants to go with time and as a smart factory wants to have smart means of transport as well. AUTO IN Technology focuses on delivering complex solutions - not just cars, but also charging systems and software for monitoring," added Petr Vavrouš, project manager for Nissan AUTO IN Technology.

Since the foundation of the company in 1974, Foxconn’s corporate vision has always been to provide technological products and solutions that bring convenience to people’s everyday lives.  Whether it is in area of work, education, entertainment, family & social, safety and security, healthcare, e-commerce or e-money or green transportation, Foxconn technology will continue to strive in making these areas easier, faster and smarter.

Here in the Czech Republic, through the entities Foxconn 4Tech & Foxconn DRC, the company continues to invest in Industry 4.0, Industrial Internet and smart technologies based on artificial intelligence with intention to continue these traditions for many years to come.
