Jan Stejskal promoted to International Partner at White & Case

The Prague office of the international law firm White & Case strengthens its team of international partners.

As of January 2022, Jan Stejskal, an expert in private equity transactions and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, will strengthen the team of nine international partners at White & Case’s Prague office.

Commenting on Mr. Stejskal’s promotion, Jan Andruško, partner and head of the CEE practice group for telecommunications, media, and technology, had this to say: “Jan is a key member of our Private Equity / M&A team, and his involvement in all of the recent major projects has been crucial.  It is my immense pleasure to welcome him among the international partners of the firm; I am already looking forward to our next collaboration!”

About Jan Stejskal

Jan Stejskal joined the Prague office of White & Case in 2011.  Upon graduating with a degree in English law from Cambridge University, he continued his legal education by obtaining a master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.  He went on to pass the bar exam in the State of New York to go along with licenses to practice as a solicitor in the UK and as an advokát under Czech law. 

Given his international experience and training, Jan Stejskal’s practice is centered around cross-border transactions with Czech and regional aspects; he primarily advises on English law matters.  Mr. Stejskal is also a sought-after expert in comparative law for the application of foreign law in a Czech context (and vice versa), and for preparing Czech companies for the entry of foreign capital. 

Jan Stejskal has played a key role in advising clients on a number of exceptional transactions, such as PPF in their acquisition of the assets of Central European Media Enterprises Ltd., a television broadcasting company with a presence in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia (total transaction value: USD 2.1bn), and in their acquisition of the telcom assets of Telenor in CEE for EUR 2.8bn – the largest-ever M&A transaction in the telecommunications sector in Central and Eastern Europe. 

Mr. Stejskal was recently involved in the representation of the Rohlik Group regarding the entry of investors, which catapulted this company among firms with a valuation in excess of one billion dollars. 

He is rated as a recommended expert in corporate law and M&A in the prestigious ranking publications of  Chambers and Partners, Legal 500, and IFLR1000.
