CEMEX is a leading provider of integrated construction solutions. The company employs some 1,300 people in the Czech Republic and holds the "Best Employers Czech Republic 2014" award. CEMEX Czech Republic is a branch of global group CEMEX, founded in Mexico in 1906. The group currently operates in more than 50 countries and employs almost 43,000 people worldwide. "As part of the optimisation of its positions CEMEX decided to divest its shares in Slovak subsidiaries operating in the areas of processing and sale of building stone," said Michal Bučko, strategic manager of CEMEX. "Due to its timing and structure the transaction was a challenge for all participants. Thanks to their professionalism and active approach, the lawyers from JŠK helped us implement a successful transaction." The JŠK team was led by partner Tomáš Doležil in cooperation with senior associate Michal Jendželovský and junior associate Michaela Krajíčková. "In this latest in a series of Czech-Slovak transactions we assisted CEMEX in implementing its strategic decision to sell two subsidiaries," Doležil said. "The sale took place in the form of a competitive tender with an ambitious timetable. Our goal was to get it done while achieving the best possible terms and conditions for CEMEX. I'm happy to say that we succeeded." Financial advisory in the transaction was provided to CEMEX by a team from MiddleCap Partners CZ s.r.o., a member of the MiddleCap group, under the leadership of Sabina Matzenauerová.
