Over 10,000 customers in the Czech Republic used the option of selling their car to a used car dealer from the comfort of their own home

Company: Aures Holdings

The AAA AUTO Company first offered the option of mobile purchasing in 1999. Since then the mobile purchasing service has expanded into all countries in which the company operates. Approximately 25% of the total number of purchased cars are bought in this manner.

An average of 30 specialists currently work in the field and buy up to 250 vehicles a week. “Customers positively rate the opportunity to make a non-binding appointment with a buyer in their home or at their place of work. The buyer arrives, appraises the vehicle within several minutes and, if the customer agrees with the price, immediately executing the essential documentation and paying out the arranged amount in cash, by deposit to a bank account or by on-line bank transfer,“ says the manager of mobile purchasing at AAA AUTO, Zdeněk Batěk. Customers subsequently save a lot of time in connection with travelling to the branch and back.

Cars purchased in the field make up approximately a quarter of all the vehicles bought and this service mainly focuses on vehicles with a low number of kilometres and a documented history. Typical vehicles purchased by the mobile buyer are the Škoda Fabia, followed by the Hyundai i3 and the VW Golf.

AAA AUTO has used this method to buy over 70,000 vehicles since 2010. The most expensive vehicle bought last year was a Porsche 911 for 1,770,000 crowns. The mobile buyers travel a total of over 1,300,000 kilometres during their jobs every year.

In the Czech Republic, 70% are corporate customer; but interest from private individuals is growing every year, because they appreciate the time-saving business transaction. Companies that wish to sell a number of cars frequently use this service and therefore don’t need to take each car to a branch. High-ranking managers or people from more distant corners of the republic are also interested, and if need be mothers on maternity leave.  “We are capable of viewing up to 100 cars a day and also making a sale of a vehicle in a part-exchange at the client’s place of residence. The customer chooses a vehicle from our offering in advance and we deliver it to his or her home. We then sell the newer vehicle and buy the older vehicle without the customer having to visit our branch,“ Batěk added.  AAA AUTO has gradually launched mobile purchasing in all four countries, where it operates, i.e. the Czech Republic, in Slovakia, in Hungary and in Poland. In the entire AAA AUTO Group in 2017, mobile buyers viewed nearly 38,000 cars at customers.  Škoda is the most frequently bought brand in the Czech Republic and in Slovakia, in Poland, Suzuki and in Hungary, Opel.
