A new short video called “The Airport Story”, prepared by Prague Airport in co-operation with the Outbreak agency and production company Masterfilm, for the finale of the season commemorating the airport’s 80th anniversary, is both a reminder of the 80-year history of the largest Czech airport and a way of supporting its brand. The spot, directed by Jan Látal and shot during last year, maps the history of the airport through statements by both famous and ordinary travellers. Several celebrities, such as actor Jan Tříska, WWII veteran Emil Boček and football goalkeeper Petr Čech, have also shared their airport stories. The video will be featured by the airport’s social media channels and used in a planned online campaign.
Famous actor Jan Tříska was the first celebrity to join the project in the first half of 2017. In September 2017, before the video was finished, Mr. Tříska died in a tragic accident. The airport has thus negotiated the use of the footage with his family. “The approval of Mr. Tříska’s family to publish the video in the originally planned format, including other memories shared by this extraordinary artist, is of great significance to Prague Airport. We truly appreciate the family’s permission,” Jakub Puchalský, Prague Airport Executive Director for Corporate and Marketing Communication, said. Along with Jan Tříska, world renowned fashion model Tereza Maxová, white-water slalom kayaker Vavřinec Hradílek, globetrotter Dan Přibáň, football goalkeeper Petr Čech, visual artist Kateřina Šedá and WWII veteran Emil Boček have shared their airport experiences.
The short film and microsite dedicated to the project also contain dozens of stories of “ordinary people” shared with the airport throughout the course of the project by travellers willing to have their experiences recorded. “All memories captured in the video are equally important, whether shared by a celebrity or an ordinary traveller. During the past eight decades, Prague airport has been the starting point of many life-changing events for thousands of people allowed to travel, learn, experience, enjoy big or small adventures and return home enriched with experience thanks to its existence. We wanted to finish commemorating the 80-year history of the airport in this way, thank passengers and pay tribute to all people in charge of past and present operations of our largest air hub,” Puchalský added.
The general public will be able to spot the new video introducing Prague Airport in an original way and format from 20 March 2018, primarily as a part of the airport’s marketing campaign targeting online media. Moreover, five spots, each featuring a celebrity from the main video, have been created alongside the final cut of the new Prague Airport short film and published on the www.letisteslavi80.cz website, as well as Prague Airport’s social networks (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube) and used in online campaigns at Stream, Seznam, ČSFD and iDnes.
The video was created to finish a year of celebrations commemorating the 80th anniversary of the largest airport in the Czech Republic; an anniversary celebrated by Prague Airport through a number of events, including a unique exhibition mapping the airport’s history and future development plans, held in the Terminal 2 Arrival Hall public area with 24/7 opening hours.
