Signatory ceremony marked a beginning of an innovative partnership between Anglo-American University (AAU) and Sustainability Management School Switzerland (SUMAS) in creating dual sustainability degree programs at the master's level, in Prague.
Students at Anglo-American University in Prague Now Have the Opportunity to Acquire yet another Globally Recognized Degree
University prestige and exceptional work prospects on the global market after graduation – these are two main parameters that students use when choosing their university. Anglo-American University in Prague (AAU) has long been fulfilling both of these criteria and has recently developed another benefit for its students. Thanks to new cooperation with Sustainability Management School (SUMAS), a renowned Swiss university, students of AAU’s Business and Law in International Markets master’s program will be able to obtain two internationally accepted degrees.
“Young people think about their career not only in terms of local markets, but they include working abroad among their options. And because we share their dreams and expectations, we want to offer them the best possibilities for professional growth,” commented AAU President Petr Jan Pajas about the future cooperation.
The memorandum of cooperation between the two universities, which was signed in February 2017 by representatives of Anglo-American University and Sustainability Management School in Switzerland, adjusts the content of and brings significant added value to the Business and Law in International Markets master’s program. Applicants to this program can obtain not only an MA degree or its local alternative, Mgr., but also an MBA title focusing on managerial skills.
Advantages of a Dual Academic Degree
Both universities believe that their future cooperation will allow them to combine Swiss expertise with the academic qualities offered by AAU.
SUMAS belongs among the best Swiss institutions engaging in sustainable development and corporate social responsibility. Its international accreditation designated for business universities as well as its membership in the European Foundation for Management Development provide students with quality education and the possibility of international networking as well as better job prospects. Students of the master’s program in Business and Law in International Markets will therefore be able to utilize the experience of their Swiss professors and also other benefits provided by the foreign university.
Education with an International Overlap
The decision to commence this cooperation is the result of AAU’s long-term efforts to provide its students with the best study conditions so that they can succeed on the job market. This is another reason why the connection with SUMAS and its MBA programs in Sustainable Management and Sustainable Finance appear to be an ideal component of a dual master’s program.
For Anglo-American University which offers bachelor’s and master’s programs exclusively in English in International Relations, Journalism, Humanities, and Business Administration, this cooperation is another successful step in supporting the school’s graduates. Last year AAU obtained American institutional accreditation, WSCUC. It is the only university in Europe to have done so. WSCUC accreditation is typical for prominent universities on the West Coast of the US such as Stanford or Berkley. Moreover, students of AAU’s programs in law receive their degree from the University of London and MBA students from Chapman University in California.
