Taste the diversity! This is the motto of the new social project called Czech Friendly which will unite the best ethnic food places in Prague in one place. Not only will you discover authentic Russian borsht, Turkish kebab or Indian samosa but also find out more about their origins.
The team of young entrepreneurs is made up of students, alumni and staff from the University of New York in Prague – Hang My, Andrey Kulkin, Rikky Curtis, Ekaterina Kokkalou and Natalia Szelachowska. Their knowledge and experience was applied in creating a valuable project for the Czech market called Czech Friendly. The idea started as the Diploma Work of Andrey Kulkin, and has grown into a large scale project that was awarded funding through a Vodafone sponsorship program. It has also launched a crowdfunding campaign that is currently ongoing. It’s a great project worth contributing to with great rewards for contributors.
The international team from UNYP has carefully collected cafes and restaurants in Prague that are run by representatives of different nationalities. They have shared with us their life stories and exclusive recipes so you can navigate your delicious journey around Prague and learn about different cultures and their food traditions.
Soon you will be able to identify the Czech Friendly restaurants by the special sticker on their doors or using the printed map. The content will also be available through a mobile app and on the website.
Czech Friendly used the Vodafone grant for producing videos and developing the mobile app. However, to make the project a reality, the project has to first raise half of the total sum of money through crowdfunding.
