Almost CZK 400,000 will help victims of domestic violence, children from children’s homes and terminally ill people
Rosa, Dejme dětem šanci and Cesta domů organisations have received checks in the value of €15,000 from the company Up Česká republika and Up Foundation at the French embassy. Stéphane Nicoletti, CEO of Up Česká republika, ceremoniously donated this sum to representatives of the organizations in the presence of the French ambassador.
Up Česká republika and the Up Group Foundation have been working with the Rosa and Dejme dětem šanci organizations for four years now. Last year, Up Česká republika started to financially support another subject, Cesta Domů, which was chosen by the company’s employees. “The aim of our corporate philanthropy activities is to enable people who somehow found themselves on the edge of society to live a high-quality and fully-fledged life,” says Veronika Šatánková, CSR Manager of Up Česká republika.
The organization Cesta domů has long been dedicated to improving care for dying people in our country. Through the services of a mobile hospice, it enables caring for the terminally ill and dying in their natural environment and offers support to their loved ones in times of sorrow. At the same time, it seeks to raise palliative care awareness through expert training and awareness campaigns.
The ROSA association helps provide long-term help to women who have been victims of domestic violence and their children. It also focuses on prevention awareness. “Last year, we mainly used the funds for projects and activities consisting in strengthening mother-child relationships, which are often disturbed after the violence,” explains Marie Vavroňová, director of the Rosa association.
The aim of the organization Dejme dětem šanci is to facilitate the path of children from children’s homes to independent life. Since its founding in 2011, it has already helped to make 3,000 children more independent, for example by saving for children for when they leave the children’s home, by providing comprehensive support for their studies or by fulfilling their wishes connected with studying or meaningful leisure time activities. Through the support of Up Česká republika children get, for example, the opportunity to study in the field which they wish, or they can extend their study time.
In addition to supporting these organizations, Up ČR has been regularly involved in other charity projects, such as material collections to help patients with cancer, support for autism as part of the Light it blue global campaign, participation in the charitable night run “Pro Světlušku” and other projects.
This year in May, the company also joined the signatories of the so-called “Charta diverzity” (Diversity Charter) in the Chamber of Deputies, confirming its willingness to further develop a generally tolerant working environment, regardless of age, religion, gender, sexual orientation or health condition.
