Driving without a driver, U Smart Zone, is a unique and the first project in the Czech Republic that embodies the future possibilities of 5G in a real city environment. The project was created within the 5G initiative for 5 cities in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Regional Development and Vodafone. The test operation of autonomous vehicle control was presented on the occasion of the ceremonial opening of the new headquarters of the Innovation Center of the Ústí nad Labem Region. In the future, for example, cars without a driver could pick up seniors at home and take them to doctors. Similarly, it could allow people with disabilities who have not been able to drive to travel, for example.
