The Lobkowicz Collections, like so many museums around the world, have closed their doors in response to the current global Covid-19 crisis. This has, of course, a huge impact on us both in Prague and internationally — all museum visits and tours have stopped, our concerts and performances postponed indefinitely, our vital collections care work has paused, and regrettably all our education programs have also been cancelled. As we follow international and government guidelines closely, we are doing our best to first and foremost ensure the safety and care of our hard-working team. We do not underestimate the impact on our individual staff, as well as on our business, with all bookings, events, and weddings cancelled for the foreseeable future.
Like so many, we are facing a challenging financial equation for the rest of 2020. Necessity, however, is the mother of invention. We wanted to inform you that we are working tirelessly to re-think how we operate, what programs we can deliver from long-distance, and how we can keep you — our much needed and valued audience — engaged with our work. We have never been more motivated as we leverage resources and new ideas to enhance the Collections, which will be made available online in a multitude of ways. We are developing exciting plans for live virtual tours of the Collections, led by the Lobkowicz family. We are talking to our education partners to redesign how we deliver the planned undergraduate programs through online learning. We have designed a new series of yoga classes entitled YogArt (pictured), showing creative ways to engage with history while encouraging health and well-being (please click here to learn more).
Driven by our guiding principles, we are proud to work with our Czech team, and international partners and supporters, to ensure that the Lobkowicz Collections and castles are available to you, wherever you are. We wish you all to keep safe and well.
