Country Public Affairs Head

Shape the (country) political and legislative environment with a view to maximizing NVS business opportunities by thought leadership in public policy, driving a cross-divisional government affairs strategy and developing an industry leading government affairs team across NVS divisions. Manage short-term issues/crises with high business/reputational impact. Member of country executive team and functional leader for divisional government affairs staff.

Thought leadership for public policy

 

  • Develop knowledge base and understanding of current and potential future policy changes and implications for Novartis businesses
  • Represent Novartis within/across political/industry communities
  • Manage relationships across Public Affairs and related business functions (market access, communication, legal etc) of all divisions to align NVS positions and ensure delivery of com-mon messages
  • Advise Country President and CEC on political matters and prepare strategic issues for CEC decision making
  • Update regional/global headquarters on local developments in a timely manner

     

Influencing public policy and resulting legislation/regulation

 

  • Act as Novartis Ambassador, building and maintaining sound and stable relationships with all key stakeholders (government, regulators, thought leaders, NGOs.).
  • Develop and implement Government Affairs group country plan
  • Participate in above-country issue management teams
  • Execute Country actions in support of above country topics Functional leadership
  • Align strategy and execution of Public Affairs activities across the divisions Perform functional management of Public Affairs associates in divisions
  • Develop local Public Affairs expertise and build a talent pipeline

     

  • Minimum Requirements

     

    University degree, preferably in Business Administration, Political Science, Public Policy, Law or Business

     

    Fluency in English and local language (Czech) both verbally and in written is a must

     

    Previous experience in a Government Affairs function

     

    Ability to perform in a complex matrix organization

     

    Relationship with and influencing of policy makers

     

    Knowledge of public health policy, environments and systems
