Senior Network Engineer/Architect

You'll work in Prague as part of our Solutions Development Group, which is responsible for the development efforts supporting the firm's computing applications and services.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or electrical engineering; other discipline and significant relevant experience
  • Experience working in a DevOps environment, cloud and hybrid cloud networking environments, SDN technologies
  • Strong understanding JSon, REST, Perl, Python and Unix scripting and log analysis along with automation programing skills including Chef, Puppet, and Ansible
  • Hands on experience with Linux/UNIX and JAVA/Perl/EXPECT/TCL Scripting is a plus
  • 5+ years of Carrier or Enterprise network design and implementation experience
  • 7+ years of TCP/IP network and application delivery experience with strong skills in network environment troubleshooting and design
  • Strong understanding of JSon, REST, Perl, Python and Unix scripting and log analysis
  • Very strong/expert with Cisco, Arista, Palo Alto Network’s Routers, Switches, VPNs, supporting or deploying WAN and/or LAN configurations with experience of network application troubleshooting and performance monitoring as well as global design and implementation
  • Expert understanding of VPN technologies including IPSec protocol suite and SSL with solid experience with most of: Cisco Wireless LAN technology, F5 load balancers, Riverbed accelerators, Arista and Palo Alto
  • Expert in understanding of core TCP/IP application services, i.e., DNS, DHCP, HTTP, RADIUS, TACACS
  • Experience working with hardware and software, commercial and open-source based routers, switches, and firewall appliances, Cloud solutions (e.g., AWS), SDN technologies, and automation skills (e.g., Chef, Puppet, Ansible)
  • Experience with Unix systems administration, type 1 and type 2 hypervisor’s, expert understanding of the TCP/IP protocol suite and a solid background in IP routing
  • Expert experience in global network and application monitoring, performance troubleshooting and data analysis including experience with REST and JSON interface programming, SQL database programing and traditional Unix scripting languages (i.e., Perl, *sh, Python, and Expect).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills

     

Who You'll Work With

Our expertise and disciplines include workstation image development, VoIP, telecommunications, mobile computing, application server, LAN/WAN standards, HD video, encryption and authentication, and data center management.

What You'll Do

You will work with the Network Engineering team to design and collaborate on global network engineering projects.

You'll develop hardware and software (virtual) based network solutions in a hybrid-WAN based global network environment, and you'll support internal-based, PaaS, and SaaS applications for a globally distributed and highly mobile workforce utilizing data, voice and video converged application architectures.

You'll manage the development and deployment of ad hoc and platform-based network application performance management and monitoring solutions for capacity planning, troubleshooting and auditing. Additionally, you'll work closely with the various teams responsible for voice communications, video conferencing, security standards, server implementation and wireless and mobile computing, and you'll collaborate with support teams to resolve escalated issues across products, vendors, and connection media.

Project horizons are typically between 6-24 months, and you'll participate in cross-team efforts to ensure functionality within video environment, including support teams, adoption teams and development teams, and you'll also lead teams resolving issues related to knowledge expertise.
