Along with the globalization of business in general, product development and innovation have now become global processes, with dramatic opportunities and challenges for all players. The playing field is not limited to individual countries or regions any more, but involves both mature and emerging economies.

This 90 minute interactive workshop traces the recent important trends in globalized product development and open innovation, and uses a couple of short case studies for discussion to illustrate the important issues.
The objectives of the workshop are for participants (1) to have an appreciation for the latest trends and related concepts in global product and service development and (2) to assess the implications of these trends in the specific context of interest to each participant. To this end, the active involvement of participants in the discussion will drive their learning, in a hands-on manner, so that there are concrete and implementable takeaways.
