In our region, the mysterious night before St. John’s Day and before the time of summer solstice is connected with many ancient legends, often coming from the pagan era.  Treasures opened and golden ferns bloomed at this time in the forest complex surrounding Chateau Mcely, the so-called St. George’s Forest. However, old herb-gathering women preferred to collect the healing St. John’s wort during St.’ John’s night. During a meeting at the Chateau, local historian Dr. Frantisek Dudek will confirm that this plant is really the queen of St. John’s flowers. At the bonfire in the Chateau Park, he will also acquaint you with the current gathering of healing plants in the region and will tell you of St. John’s night mystery. But the best comes last. Accompanied by a professional, you can set out to gather blooming St. John’s wort yourself in the mysterious night forest. We will then brew an exquisite good-night herb tea from what you’ve gathered for you!
