InterContinental Prague - 35th Anniversary and Open Door Day

InterContinental Praha celebrates 35 years of in the know experience

InterContinental Praha invites the public to an Open Door Day celebration of its 35th Anniversary on Wednesday August 5th 2009. The official opening will start on the plaza in front of the hotel at 15:00 and the Open Door Day will finish at 21:00.

On the plaza in front of the hotel you will taste culinary specialties similarly to what was on the menu in 1974 at CZK 35,- per portion, prepared by the hotel’s long standing Executive Chef, Miroslav Kubec, together with Zlata Praha’s Chef de Cuisine Jan Horký, who was voted Best Chef of the Year 2007/2008 in the Czech Republic.

During the day there will be guided hotel tours every 20 minutes starting at 15:20 by the hotel entrance. You will see newly refurbished guest rooms and suites, restaurants and conference.

Historical cars from the period when the hotel opened will help to transport you back into a seventies atmosphere.

The historical documents and VIP books will be displayed in the hotel Lobby during the Open Door Day.

At a price of CZK 35,- our Health Club and Spa InterContinental therapists will provide you with a neck massage on the Plaza.

The limited edition of commemorative pins (only 200 pcs) will be sold at special price of CZK 35 per piece.

The first 1000 visitors will receive a special InterContinental Praha news edition which features highlights not only of the hotel and but also short facts of Prague history.

From 17:00 the Zlata Praha restaurant will offer a special Anniversary 5 course dinner which was taken from the 1974 menu at CZK 1 974,-: Shrimp Cocktail on Lettuce Leaves with Toasts, Chicken Cream Mulligatawny with Whipped Cream and crispy Straw, King´s Ragout in Scallop baked with Hollandaise Sauce, Lemon, Veal Steak a la Zlata Praha with lukewarm Vegetables and French Fries, dessert will be Baked Omelette Surprise.
