Because of the introductory nature of this module, it aims to abroad target audience. A BSCM education should be aprerequisite for everyone who is working in the supply chain. It provides you with an overview of the internal operations of your company. It also gives a lot of attention to a "common language”, which diminishes misunderstandings due to lack of knowledge of terminology, concepts and definitions.
Even for professionals who already have a lot of experience it can be interesting, because it refreshes your existing skills and learn new ones. It is also applicable for employees working in non-operations field e.g. sales, engineering warehousing, order entry, IT etc, it could be interesting to learn the basic principles.
Basics of Supply Chain Management (BSCM) is the entry module of the CPIM program which offers a good overview for the other 4CPIM modules.
Starting with BSCM module will help you see the entire picture before moving on to the other 4 CPIM modules.
