The end of 2017 brings us to the 25th anniversary of the Velvet Divorce.
In wake of this important occasion, AAU is hosting the international conference Czechoslovak Velvet Divorce: 25 Years Later and we would cordially invite you as our guest (students, staff, or teachers) for free of charge.
The conference will reflect back to this pivotal moment in history, but more importantly will apply the lessons learned to the contemporary debate around the processes and repercussions of Europe’s (dis)integration among experts from not just the Czech Republic and Slovakia, but also Belgium, Spain, and Serbia. These topics shall be analyzed not just through a political lens, but also with economic and sociological considerations.
