The SIGNAL festival is the largest cultural event in the Czech Republic, bringing modern art and new technology to the wider and technical public.
The streets and public spaces of Prague, its most famous historical landmarks, and even a few lesser-known nooks and crannies will be transformed for four nights under the leadership of Czech and global personalities in light art and design.
For three years the festival has drawn over a million attendees to Prague streets from the Czech Republic and beyond, earning its status as one of the most important festivals of its kind, both in the Czech Republic and on the international stage. This year we’ve been honoured by two great achievements that we deeply appreciate and that wish to share with you:
- This year the capital city of Prague and the Ministry of Culture have included SIGNAL among the ranks of the top priority cultural events taking place in Prague and the Czech Republic.
- The newly formed International Light Festival Organisation has chosen our director, Martin Pošta, as its president.
We are expanding our activities to include the development and education of fresh talent for this exceptional artistic field. We have been working on the project of establishing the SIGNALlab creative centre in Holešovice Hall No. 40, we are preparing our second annual Transmit inspiration conference for March, and we are involved in conferences and workshops on this subject matter all around the world. Indeed, the preparation of the SIGNAL Festival keeps us busy year round.
This year’s SIGNAL festival will light up Prague for the fourth time from 13 to 16 October.
