Plzeňský Prazdroj has the Best Sustainability Report in the Czech Republic

3.12.2018
Company: Deloitte

Plzeňský Prazdroj is this year’s winner of Deloitte‘s Green Frog Award for the best sustainability report in the Czech Republic. The winner was selected by an independent jury from among ten competitors. Seeking to award the best non-financial reports produced by Czech businesses, the competition has been held for the eighteenth year.

Plzeňský Prazdroj was awarded by the independent jury for a number of reasons. It primarily recognised the link of its sustainability strategy to the business plan and the clear online form of the report. The jury consisted of Eva Chvalkovská, Expert on Socially Responsible Public Procurement at the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, Lucie Mádlová, founder and CEO of the Association of Corporate Social Responsibility, and Zuzana Dvořáková, a professor at the MIAS School of Business at the Czech Technical University in Prague.

“We have produced the sustainability report since 2006 and every year seek to advance reporting to a new level. Therefore, we took an innovative approach to this year’s report and prepared a comprehensible and straightforward website. We wish to communicate Plzeňský Prazdroj’s strategy and activities in sustainable development to the general public, and we greatly appreciate that the jury has recognised our approach,” says Drahomíra Mandíková, Corporate Affairs Director CE at Plzeňský Prazdroj.

As the winner of the national competition, Plzeňský Prazdroj automatically qualifies for the Central Europe-wide round, where it will be assessed by an international jury of experts. The regional round of the Green Frog Award will, besides Czech businesses, also see the participation of firms from Hungary, Croatia, Slovakia, Poland and Romania. The results will be announced by Deloitte in January 2019.

“According to our latest research, 80 percent of CFOs foresee that sustainability issues may influence capital raising processes going forward. The firms awarded serve as good examples of how CSR may be successfully included in corporate strategies, goals and value-creation”, says Lenka Neuvirtová, Sustainability Leader at Deloitte Czech Republic.
