Violeta Luca will be the CEO of Vodafone in the Czech Republic from January

Violeta Luca, who will now lead Vodafone in the Czech Republic, has over 20 years of experience in sales, marketing and strategy in various companies. She joins from her position as General Manager of Microsoft Czech Republic and Slovakia.

The current CEO of Vodafone Czech Republic, Petr Dvořák, was promoted within the Vodafone Group this year and will be replaced by Violeta Luca (43) from January 2024. She currently heads Microsoft Czech Republic and Slovakia. Before that, she was the CEO of Microsoft Romania.

Violeta Luca has managed transformation projects in retail, banking, e-commerce, healthcare and telecommunications and has over 20 years of experience in leadership positions. She has a long-standing commitment to digital skills development, innovation and supporting start-ups, while actively mentoring and empowering women in their professional and management careers.

Awarded as TOP CEO and best foreign manager

She has received numerous awards, including the 20 most influential women in Czech Fintech according to Forbes magazine and TOP CEO 2023. She won the Foreign Manager category in the Manager of the Year 2022 competition. Under her leadership, Microsoft has also won the Best Employer award several times, both in the Czech Republic and Romania.

Violeta Luca has served as a board member of AmCham (American Chamber of Commerce) in Romania, Slovakia and the Czech Republic (where she is currently serving her second term). Prior to joining Microsoft, she held several leadership positions at companies such as Metro Cash & Carry, Dante International, Flanco Retail, Whirlpool and AIG. She graduated from the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest, Romania.
