The Cucumber Season. Who hasn't heard about it? For journalists, it's twice more difficult. Nothing happens and fellow reporters leave on holidays. Yet, all that white space needs to be filled in somehow. For smart people this is a great opportunity to get your name out in the newspapers.

What you will learn:

  • 9.00 - 10.30: How to get my name out in the newspapers this summer? Identification of your communication goals. Media audit - what is your story and how to tell it to the local media. Trend spotting - where to find more attractive ideas for your articles and blog posts. 
  • 11.00 - 12.30: Story writing. Practical exercise on how to turn your idea into a media-attractive article or blog post. 
  • 13.30 - 15.00: Give me some hard facts. How to use figures, charts and other background information to back up your story and make a case for the media. 
  • 15.30 - 17.00: Let them work for me. How to use social media such as LinkedIn and Twitter to save time AND spread your original content among your clients, competitors and potential business partners.

Practical exercise: 50%. Discussion and sharing: 30%. Theory: 20%.
